Bi-Communal Astronomy Workshop for Youth
April 1 @ 15:00 - 19:00Free
Are you aged between 13-18 years old and curious to find out what the Universe is made of? Come along to our next Astronomy for Peace event at the Home for Cooperation on Saturday 1st April, to find out more!
Our team, including a professional Astronomer, will start its journey of discovery close to home, explaining how our own Solar System formed, before moving on to discuss the recent exciting discovery of TRAPPIST-1: the first known system of seven Earth-sized planets to be orbiting a single star! We will talk about the methods and techniques that Astronomers used to make this discovery and discuss topics such as what makes a planet habitable and what are the chances of finding life on these planets.
We will then head to the roof, where you will have the opportunity to use a telescope to observe the beautiful night's sky!
Please make sure you submit your application form (downloadable here: http://www.ahdr.info/
